Autism Edmonton is the oldest autism organization in the province, dedicated to serving Edmonton and the surrounding area since 1971. Its mission is to deliver life-enhancing programs that ignite the power and potential of autistic individuals while fostering an inclusive and supportive community. Through a wide range of services, Autism Edmonton supports individuals at all stages of life and diagnosis, empowering them and their families to navigate their unique journeys with dignity and respect.
The organization provides tailored programs and resources designed to adapt to the evolving needs of autistic individuals and their families. These include social and peer support groups for adults on the spectrum, support groups for LGBTQ+ members, and partner and parent groups. Autism Edmonton also offers enriching respite care, recreational and learning activities for children, and food support. Additionally, they connect individuals and families to specialists and resources while providing pre- and post-diagnosis support to guide them every step of the way.
Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, Autism Edmonton works to strengthen the community’s understanding of autism. By cultivating inclusion and building connections, they strive to promote the well-being of autistic individuals and their families.
